Check out my NBA LIVE 18 vs THE FUTURE OF NBA LIVE 19 video down below and take a look at what NBA LIVE 19 could be if EA uses my wishlist as inspiration.
EA made a pretty big comeback last year with NBA LIVE 18.
Despite the game missing many features and needing some much needed fixes, it’s pretty
fun overall. I’ve been very vocal on
social media with the features and modes I’d like to not only see updated in NBA LIVE 18, but make it into NBA LIVE 19. The devs over at EA SPORTS NBA have
made efforts to listen to the community and have updated NBA LIVE 18 many times
since launch. Hopefully they will continue to look to the community and make
NBA LIVE 19 the best game it can possibly be.
This list will get updates for the next few months, so check back often.

IMPORTANT features & fixes for NBA LIVE 19
When we load into NBA LIVE 19 we should load into a gym or
blacktop setting for a shootaround with our favorite team, or created players. Playerlock, this is a key feature that’s
needed in modes like play now, franchise etc.
New hairstyles
I have plenty of hairstyle videos on my hobby channel, feel free to take inspiration from them all.
Jumpshot creator this would be perfect especially with the limited jumpshot selection we’ve had
over the years. This also allows the user more creative control over their
experience in the game. Shoe creator, NBA LIVE 18 has some pretty dope
sneakers. It would be nice to be able to build off of that and
create our own colorways in LIVE 19.
More signatures styles, they’re too
limited we need more choices and to be able to mix and match them. One dribble package is just not enough, most of all dribbling and movement needs to be more fluid. Since Live 14 the movement in NBA LIVE games have felt pretty stiff, it has gotten better with 18, but you can still feel that stiffness at times. Look to past games like NBA LIVE 10 for inspiration.
The option to use different control layouts for example, NBA LIVE 16 dribble controls (which felt more natural in my opinion).

Less forced
animations We need more control over player movement, too many times it
feels like we’re stuck in a pre determined animation.
A new shotmeter
Since
NBA LIVE 16 the live shotmeter has suffered from snapping back, the
bar goes all the way to the top and pops back (shows as late release or even
sometimes bad release) or the bar doesn’t fill all the way and shows up as a
early release or even a bad release that gives a negative. A meter like NBA
LIVE Mobile would be a much better option (minus missing green releases) More traits for career mode and option to hide them on screen. They should only pop up briefly when activated. Able to add traits to created players.
New scoreboard something smaller and off to the right lower corner would look so much better.
New player grade system
You can go the whole game with a 100 grade then get a negative out of no where in the last few seconds of a game and your grade will go down, as if everything you did all game long to get that 100 grade meant nothing. For example in NBA 2K once you get an A+ it takes a lot for your grade to drop because in the background everything you continue to do in the game is counting towards keeping that A+.
Why give a negative for things like getting ankles broken? I can understand getting extra points for breaking ankles, but being penalized for getting stuck in a animation you have no control over, especially when you're playing good defense ? That makes zero sense.
Often times you get stuck behind a screen (sometimes you get pushed to the ground and stuck in an animation) or your defense indicator switches at the last moment, you'll get a negative for the opponent "shooting open". It's things like this that needs to be addressed and fixed.

THE ONE 2.0 / Career Mode
It's time to separate Career from online so players who only enjoy playing career no longer have to be restricted to playstyles that keep them from creating an all around NBA superstar.
I understand caps are needed to combat online “cheese”. However, that should NEVER restrict the solo player. The best way to keep single player modes fun and without restrictions is to split them from online. Career mode should have a separate player that can ONLY be used in single player.
Live Run / Co-op challenges should keep the same playstyles from NBA LIVE 18 (with new and improved playstyles as well) and have a totally separate player that earns SP and RP in online modes only. If you choose a Career mode player then you cannot ever use that player in online Co-op challenges or live run.
The career player should load into the team gym or a
customizable court as soon as they enter into the mode. The user can choose to
shootaround, change clothes, sigs etc. or invite their cpu teammates to play 1v1, 2v2
etc.
Frostbite engine and a full story (like Fifa 18) with skip
cutscenes option of course. Exclusives gear & extra RP from endorsement deals.
BRING back the league
and pro am tour! This is one of the greatest features to ever be added to a
basketball game. There should be 1v1 2v2,
and 3v3 challenges added. Shirtless option in the pro am tour shirts vs skins.
Able to choose any dribble moves and jumpshot (or
jumpshot editor if it’s added).
As I stated previously playstyles in career are too limited. The user
should be able to mix and match playstyles and even make an all around player
with no caps. If someone wants to make a 6’7 PG with 99 dribbling 99 three, 99
dunk and 99 defense they should be able to make that player with as many traits
as they see fit. Single player modes should have ZERO restrictions. New player grade overlay to show stats along with points ( Points, Assist, Rebs) sort of like NBA 2k mycareer.
Career mode can be played
with or without internet connection.
Single player needs weekly challenges to be able to earn
exclusive crates like online co-op. Not everyone has a squad or even wants to
be bothered with randoms. To be fair to solo players in NBA Live they
should have equal opportunity to get these items without being forced to play
with other people.
Edit sliders, since this mode will only be in single player
the user should be able to make their experiences as hard or as easy as they
see fit.
Able to change jerseys both new and throwback styles.

CREATE A PLAYER TOOLS
The CAP tools in NBA LIVE have been the bare minimal since
NBA LIVE 14. Last gen Live games has a much more in depth cap tool. The user should be able to change default heads with sculpt
tools, and change skin color, eye color hair and facial color on any style.
Bring back the option to choose your own body type (like NBA LIVE 16)
Blacktop mode
It has been many MANY years since Live has had a blacktop
mode, I believe the last was in LIVE 06. We need that mode back!
Key things that need
to be in NBA LIVE 19 Blacktop mode
1. able to use create players, career players and past and
present players for example Iverson or Stretch from NBA streets.
2. option to choose 1v1- 2v2 etc.
3. Edit rules, for example make it take it, fatigue off, no
fouls etc.
4. Choose different courts
5. DJ and a hyped crowd
6. Shirts vs skins option
7. Flashier dunks and dribble moves (for example off the heezy and self oops off the backboard)
Practice/ Scrimmage
mode
A scoreboard needs to be added, score option 11-21 or timed, rule
options like make it take, playerlock, and able to use custom rosters (created players).
Franchise mode
1. Force trade option
2. able to edit player
3. multiplayer franchise option
4. Madden 18 franchise options for example, choose to be the coach, owner or a player (lottery draft pick, 2nd round draft or undrafted prospect.
7. PLAYERLOCK
2. Bring back the FULL store from NBA Live 16. Crates are great for exclusive items, but it's ridiculous to have to spend 10k-100k trying to get the ONE item you want.
Not to mention the items that unlock in the "the store" once you're level 70 etc. are overpriced.
Even with 600k rp sitting in my account its just some things I personally refuse to buy because of the price.
3. Mascot rival mode 3v3 5v5 ( for single player & multiplayer)
4. Live run should be seperate from pro am.
Live run 1v1-3v3 (street clothes) (5v5 if people enjoy it that much) sim/arcade gameplay.
Pro am is 5v5 ranked and unranked matches. Ranked matches are more sim based while unranked matches are a mix of sim and arcade. Legit squads have access to custom uniforms and win exclusive items as they move up the ranks to become a top tier team.
Pro Am walk on (unranked with randoms or friends) only can wear default pro am team uniforms and earn extra RP for winning games.
EA came out swinging last year with NBA LIVE 18, I'm excited to
see what they will do next with NBA LIVE 19. Hopefully they use my ideas
as inspiration to make a great game that is full of features and also caters to both solo
and co-op players.
